At Floreat we enable children to flourish in school by giving them a knowledge-rich academic education and developing their character strengths and virtues. Our pupils learn how to work hard and study well, and also to be good and to do good for others. This sets them up for a future of success and wellbeing, whatever they choose to do in their lives.

The Governing Body and teaching staff will do their best to ensure that the necessary provision is made for any pupil who has SEND (Special Educational Needs or Disability) and ensure that, where the Headteacher or the appropriate governor has been informed by the Local Authority that a pupil has SEND, those needs will be made known to all who are likely to teach them.

    Parent Concerns

Should you have any concerns about your child, please feel free to arrange a meeting with your child's class teacher and fill in the SEN Initial Concerns Form. We can meet with you and discuss realistic targets for your child and suggest a review date which can be organised with the SENCO.

    SEND Local Offer

As a school we work within the Wokingham guidance on provision for children with SEND in mainstream schools, which explains the ways pupils/children/students with different additional needs are provided for within the school. We also follow our Equality and Accessibility policies.

At Floreat, we believe that every child deserves the best possible education. Adults and children work together and create an environment in which all pupils, regardless of their particular needs, can flourish and achieve their true potential, both academically and socially. This is achieved through:

    • Quality first teaching delivered to meet children’s different learning styles.
    • The support of well- trained Teaching Assistants.
    • Working closely with parents.
