Special Education Needs or Disabilities (SEND) is a term used to describe children who have additional needs in one of the following areas of their development:
Communication and interaction
Cognition and learning
Social and emotional health
Sensory and/or physical difficulties
The SENDCo and class teacher meet regularly with parents to ensure they are informed of the progress and next steps in development for their child.
We ensure that the SEN policy works within the guidelines and inclusion policies of the Code of Practice (2015), the Local Education Authority and other policies within the school. Both the Governing Body and teaching staff are informed of these policies and do their best to make sure the teaching and the environment is inclusive for all.
Should you have any concerns about your child, please feel free to arrange a meeting with your child's class teacher and fill in the SEN Initial Concerns Form. The SENDCo and class teacher can meet with you to discuss any concerns you have.
